The 2M2280 is one of the few Direct-On-Line Step Motor Drive, available in the industry, which can be simply power up from the AC power source without the need of a Power Supply. This makes it cost effective and space.
What kind of functions SMC-8960 have ?
We are now testing SMC-8960 and it looks nice. I have some questions as following:
1.Can we use inputs for jog operations ?
2.Can we use handwheel (manuel pulser) to inputs for jog operations ?
3.Has the SMC-8960 card already got inputs for jog and handwheel ?
The card SMC-8960 have not that hardware function as you said , but we can realize it via software. The operation method as following:
1. Mechanical switch : mechanical switch connect one of input point of SMC-8960 card, when our card read the signal of input point, it will use “pmove” or “continue_move” to realize the impulse output.
2. Handwheel: Handwheel connect the feedback position of encode (P2 connection board of 856 card), ( note: if any axis has connected handwheel, it can not connect encode again).3. Our card will use the function “get_actual_pos” to get impulse quantity, then send impulse by “pmove”.
